Linda Berg

In 1990, Brad and Linda Berg began leading short-term mission trips to Mexico from their home church in Rockford, IL. The need for the Gospel in Mexico was so overwhelming that in 1997 the Berg’s resigned from their successful careers in the US to become full-time missionaries.

During the past 25 years, as part of two mission organizations, Brad and Linda helped plant three new churches, assisted over 30 additional small churches with ministry needs and physical supplies, and built a 28 acre Christian service camp. Praise the Lord for their faithful work to expand the Kingdom beyond US borders!

Then in December of 2020 Brad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Immediately the doctors recommended a series of chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Unfortunately, as is too often the case, those aggressive treatments resulted in numerous other side effects which caused his health to continue to decline.

For more than a year, Brad battled with neuropathy in his feet, then in his legs, finally moving all the way up to his wrists, hands, and even into his digestive system. He also struggled with two blood infections, then sepsis, then a life-threatening drop in platelets. All of this required multiple ambulance transports, numerous emergency room treatments, and long-term hospital stays.

Earlier this year, on April 28th, Brad passed from this life to his heavenly reward.

As you can imagine, all of Brad’s medical needs ran up large expenses. Fortunately, Brad and Linda were covered with a good health insurance plan. However, even with good insurance, there were numerous co-payments, ambulance costs, and other medical expenses that were not covered and are now due (some even past due).

A few days ago I shared Brad and Linda’s story with a husband and wife couple who are friends of KBF and told them we needed to raise $7,000 to help Linda pay those uninsured expenses. My friends immediately offered to donate $3,500, if you, and other Christians across the country, would match their gift and give another $3,500.

So today, I’m asking for your help. If God has blessed you, will you help Linda finish paying Brad’s medical expenses?

  • If you can give $3,500 – then $7,000 will be available to help Linda;

  • If you can give $1,000 – then $2,000 will be available to help Linda;

  • If you can give $100 – then $200 will be available to help Linda.

Whatever you can give will be a great blessing.

The mission of Rio Bravo Ministries (one of the two missions the Berg’s served with) is found in James 1:27, “…caring for orphans and widows in the time of their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” Now it’s our time to care for Linda Berg. Will you join us?
