Missionary work in third-world countries is often slow and hard. But for Loubens and Jessica Eugene, missionaries in Jacmel, Haiti, the past few years have been fraught with unbelievable challenges and dangers:
- The President of Haiti was assassinated;
- Gangs roamed the streets, setting up roadblocks, looting, and killing;
- Public services like water, sewer, and electricity became unreliable; and
- On October 16, 2021, 17 missionaries were kidnapped by terrorists (the same day Jessica was on a street nearby).
Fearing for the safety of their three children, the Eugenes have temporarily returned to the United States.
Here’s where Loubens and Jessica need your help. Their income from mission support is only $1,200 per month … certainly not enough for a family to survive in the US. Both are working part-time jobs while they continue to oversee the work of the Haitian people serving on the mission staff. But the cost of rent, utilities, food, and clothing has depleted all their savings.
This missionary family may be forced to give up unless they can get help!

But, here’s the good news … and the amazing way the Lord provides. As soon as I learned about Loubens and Jessica, I called Steve Yeaton, Senior Minister at First Christian Church in Columbus, Indiana. Steve immediately went to work and raised $13,000 in pledges for donations to KBF … IF you and the rest of the KBF family will donate another $13,000.
That means altogether we could provide $26,000 to help this faithful missionary family meet their financial needs and continue their vital mission work!
Here’s what else you need to know about the ministry that Loubens and Jessica have been doing. For 13 years, as Co-Directors of the Damou Christian Mission, they have established an Infant Care ministry, a Christian School, a Christian Church, a Vocational Training program, a Center to care for the Elderly, and a Medical services outpost. This Kingdom work MUST go on!
So, today I’m asking for your help in raising $13,000 to “Match” the $13,000 already pledged for the Eugenes.
This is GREAT stewardship! Every dollar you give will do “Double Duty.”
- If you can give $100 … $200 will be available to help;
- If you can give $500 … $1,000 will be available to help;
- If you can give $1,000, or $2,000, or $5,000 … your gift will be doubled!
Remember, helping Kingdom workers like Loubens and Jessica is exactly what KBF was established to do.
