MAY 2023 UPDATE: On May 8, 2023, Nell was promoted to her eternal reward as Jesus called her home. We can only imagine that as she was greeted and embraced by our Heavenly Father, He whispered to Nell, “Well done, good and faithful servant.”
Before Nell’s passing, Bob wrote a “thank you” letter to all KBF donors who gave so generously during their time of need. Click below to read this letter.
Bob and Nell Stacy have been faithful Kingdom workers for decades! Bob was ordained in 1953. He attended Ozark Christian College and Cincinnati Christian University. Later he taught at both of those colleges as well as Central Christian College of the Bible.
In 1968, Bob founded Christ In Youth – a ministry which over the years has impacted thousands of students’ lives with the Gospel of Christ. In addition, Bob and Nell have served in ministry roles with churches in Iowa, Illinois, Arkansas and Ohio. And, even today, as Bob nears his 90th birthday, he is still serving as the Minister to Seniors at the Spring Hill Church of Christ.
A few years ago Nell was involved in a near fatal car accident which resulted in a number of injuries including head trauma (brain bleed, etc.) This resulted in a lengthy hospitalization and rehabilitation. Three months later she fell and broke her hip, so again was hospitalized and in rehab. Then, six months later, she fell again and broke her pelvis. Since that time her physical and mental health has steadily declined. And … just last week she fell out of bed and broke her other hip requiring immediate surgery.
Last October Bob and Nell had to move out of the house they were living in. Nell was admitted to a memory care unit and Bob is living in an apartment nearby. As you can imagine, their medical and care expenses are daunting – over $10,000 per month!
Bob has applied to Medicaid for help with Nell’s expenses, but the wheels of government turn slowly, and their life savings are disappearing quickly!
As soon as I heard about Bob and Nell’s situation I immediately called a few ministry friends. They immediately jumped in and committed to providing a “Matching Gift” of $15,000 if the Kairos Benevolence Fund could raise another $15,000 from other friends like you.
So, today I am asking for your help. I know $15,000 is a BIG goal, but I know we serve a BIG God who can do even more than we ask. And no one deserves our help more than Bob and Nell Stacy!
- If you can give $5,000 – your gift will be doubled and $10,000 will be available to help Bob and Nell;
- If you can give $1,000 – your gift will be doubled and $2,000 will be available to help Bob and Nell;
- If you can give $100 – your gift will be doubled and $2,000 will be available to help Bob and Nell;
