Howard Mountcastle is truly one of God’s faithful servants! He and his wife, Lovell, served in active preaching ministry for more than 63 years! And, even as his health declined over the last 7 years, Howard has continued to teach a Sunday School class, lead a Wednesday night Bible study, and do supply preaching from time-to-time.
Unfortunately, Howard’s health is now a serious problem. He has gone through two major surgeries. Then, in 2022 he fell and broke his arm which required another hospital stay and time in a rehabilitation facility. Then, on the way home, a car ran through a stop sign and t-boned him re-breaking his arm and causing multiple other serious injuries.
As you can imagine, multiple auto insurance companies are fighting over the liability, but in the meantime, Howard suffers. He has been in and out of hospitals and rehab centers. His daughter has quit her job in California and moved to the Mountcastle’s home in Missouri in order to provide the care he needs.
Howard can no longer get in and out of bed (or a chair) by himself. The family has had to acquire a “lift” appliance in order to move him from place to place. His circulation is so poor that a special machine is needed. His health requires a number of special supplies and supplements … plus regular sessions with a Home Health Care provider.
The financial burden to this precious family is overwhelming!
Howard’s daughter has identified about $15,000 in expenses they are facing that will not be covered by insurance or Medicaid … and they just don’t have the money!
I know $15,000 is a lot of money … but I also know we serve a God who “owns the cattle on a thousand hills.” and a Lord who fed 5,000 with just 2 loaves of bread and five fish. So, I know HE can bless whatever we can give to help meet the needs of one of our Christian brothers.
