For decades, Michael and Dezi Worstell have faithfully answered God’s call—serving wherever the need was greatest. From youth ministry in Missouri, to 13 years planting a church as missionaries in Taiwan, to raising five children (including adopting a daughter), to serving families in crisis through child welfare, their lives have been marked by one consistent response: “Yes, Lord.”
Along the way, Michael and Dezi have been connected to ministries and places many of us know—Ozark Christian College, Central Christian College of the Bible, and the broader missions community through ICOM.
The Worstells never pursued wealth or security. They pursued faithfulness. But today, their situation has changed.
Since July of last year, Dezi has been battling a severe and debilitating health condition. What began as chronic fatigue has progressed into extreme exhaustion and vertigo—leaving her with only about one hour of energy per day. She has been largely bedridden for more than ten months.

As you can imagine, the financial strain has been overwhelming. Medical appointments, MRIs and CT scans, prescriptions, and specialized equipment have depleted the Worstells’ modest savings. Today, their insurance premiums alone consume nearly one third of Michael’s take-home pay.
To keep up with the costs, Michael and Dezi have already made difficult sacrifices—including selling their car just to cover essential medical needs.
This is where we can step in.
KBF has launched a campaign to raise up to $10,000 to help the Worstells cover their medical expenses and ongoing care. Will you give generously to help this couple during their time of need?
Michael and Dezi have spent a lifetime faithfully serving others. Now, they need a community to come alongside them.
The Karios Benevolence Fund was created to provide compassion and care in situations like these. Together, we can make a life-changing difference for the Worstell family. Whether it’s $100, $500, or more, your gift will help relieve the burden Michael and Dezi are carrying in this difficult season. Just as importantly, your financial support will remind them they are not alone.
