Steve and Sara Harley

Steve and Sara Harley have faithfully served in ministry for more than 26 years. In the last five, the church they are currently serving has grown from 300 to over 1,000 members. Last year, 134 people accepted Christ as their Savior and were baptized; another 110 people have already made that same commitment in 2026.

While these years have been wonderful for the church, they have been incredibly difficult for Steve and Sara and their daughters.

Sixteen years ago, Steve and Sara adopted a one-month-old baby girl who was addicted to drugs because her birth mother had been a user during pregnancy. This painful addiction and withdrawal compounded what medical professionals call Reactive Attachment Disorder (R.A.D.), a trauma and stress-related condition which has led to a lifetime of relational and behavioral challenges.

Then five years ago, another daughter who had been a healthy, active athlete got sick with COVID-19. Now, and for the past five-years, LONG-COVID has debilitated her lungs to the point where she is primarily bedfast.

As you can imagine, Steve and Sara have spent thousands of hours in prayer for these girls, while facing thousands of dollars in medical costs.

Now they have been advised to place their daughter with R.A.D. in a long-term Christian residential treatment facility where she can receive intensive therapeutic care. The cost for this care will be over $5,000 per month for 12 to 15 months, which could total more than $65,000!

Before coming to KBF, Steve and Sara had drained their savings of $25,000 and raised gifts from their family, friends, church, and other organizations. Even after all this, they are still $22,000 short of the funds needed to care for their daughters.

When we shared Steve and Sara’s story with KBF’s leadership team, they immediately authorized the staff to get this story out to you with the goal of raising $22,000 or more!

Remember, the Greek word Kairos means “taking action at a specific or unique moment in time.” That’s what we’re asking you to do right now! Take action at this specific moment in time – GIVE GENEROUSLY – and be a blessing to Steve and Sara and their daughters.

I know $22,000 is a BIG GOAL. But you and I serve a BIG GOD who can do BIG things when we ask in faith. Steve and Sara’s daughters need professional medical help and I pray that you will join me raising the money they need for their care! Will you do that?

  • If you can give $100, please do that.
  • If you can give $500, please do that.
  • If you can give $1,000 or $2,000, or $5,000, or $10,000, please do that.
  • And, if there’s any way you could give $22,000, please do that – what an incredible blessing it would be!
