Lucas Rife is a 32-year-old Christian church Minister and member of a mission team. Even at this young age, Lucas has battled more health-related adversity than most of us will face in a lifetime. However, by God’s grace, he is alive and continuing to serve Christ’s kingdom. His life verse is 2 Corinthians 12:9:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
At just 7 years old, cancer attacked Lucas’ left leg. 48 weeks of chemotherapy wiped out his immune system and caused him to miss most of 1st and 2nd grades. Over the next few years, several additional surgeries were required on that leg to repair tendons and fight staff infection, until … at the age of just 22 … it had to be amputated.
Next, in 2022, a dermatologist discovered a suspicious mole on Lucas’ chest. That mole tested positive for Melanoma cancer, so more surgery and time in the hospital was required.
Then, just last summer, Lucas became ill while serving at a Church Camp. Blood tests were run and he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, a rare and extremely aggressive form of blood cancer. He immediately began more chemotherapy, followed by immunotherapy, none of which killed the cancer.

Ultimately it was determined that Lucas required a bone marrow transplant. So, back to the hospital he went for this life-saving procedure which was accomplished on November 22, just before Thanksgiving last year.
As you can imagine, Lucas’ medical expenses have been enormous! Medical insurance has covered many of the costs, and his church and friends have all contributed to help. But, the bottom line is that Lucas and his wife have paid out-of-pocket (or still owe) approximately $20,000 and they need KBF’s help!
I shared Lucas’ need with KBF’s Leadership Team and they immediately authorized us to launch a campaign to raise $20,000.
I know $20,000 is a lot of money, but I also know Jesus taught that if we have the faith of a grain of mustard seed, mountains can be moved. So, today, I’m asking you to help us move this mountain of medical debt for Lucas and Amanda Rife.
