You Can Help Save a Home for Five Children and Their Ministry Parents!

Larry and Darlene Clay love children and have a heart for serving Christ’s church. During their 31 years in ministry, they have served five congregations and adopted seven children who were in need of Christian parents and a stable home. Tragically, a little over one year ago, Larry suffered a debilitating stroke. Today he is permanently disabled, making it impossible for him to continue to lead a church and provide for his family.

The church he was serving at the time of his stroke have done what they can to provide assistance for Larry, Darlene, and the children in many wonderful ways. Unfortunately, when COVID-19 hit, the church’s income was severely impacted, so they are no longer able to continue their financial support of the Clay family.

Larry has applied for disability assistance with the Social Security Administration, but again, due to COVID-19, processing their application is taking months and months longer than normal. In the meantime, the Clays have a mortgage payment due on the first of each month, five children to feed, and numerous other expenses that come with raising a family.

Larry and Darlene need help, and we can provide some! If you will join me with a gift to KBF, we can make the mortgage payments on the Clays’ house while their application to Social Security winds its way through the process.

As soon as I heard about Larry and Darlene’s need for help, I asked David Chapman (a long-time member of the KBF team) to share this situation with Scott Eynon, Pastor at Community Christian Church in Tamarac, Florida. Scott met with the church’s elders, and they unanimously agreed to send KBF a $5,000 donation to be used as a Challenge Gift toward the goal of raising $10,000 in financial assistance for the Clay family.

Now I need your help, and because of the Challenge Gift your donation will be doubled! By raising just $5,000 we can make $10,000 available to assist the Clay family for the next six months. That’s the body of Christ in action!

Please take a moment to pray for Larry and his family, and then give as generously as the Lord lays it on your heart! Your gift matters!
