A Race in the Desert
Biking 100 Kilometers for Compassion and Care
On November 23, 2024 Kairos Benevolence Fund Founder, David Pace (72), and friend, Bob Kear (81), will ride in the “El Tour De Tucson” bike event. The race is 50km in length, winding through the City of Tucson and the nearby Sonoran Desert. Each rider will ride 50km, so together they will cover 100km.
David and Bob are committed to giving their best effort so that KBF has the money it needs to help provide a “safety-net” for ministers and missionaries in 2025!
In Acts 2 we read that the early Christians “sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need.” And in Matthew 25 Jesus praised those who had given water, or food, or clothing to those in need … and he said, “I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
COUNTDOWN TO RACE DAY...
Our goal is to raise $1,000 per kilometer ridden by David and Bob with a total fundraising goal of $100,000 to help cover ministry operational costs in 2025.
We know how important this work is. And we also know it takes the support of our generous donors to run the operations that makes the fundraising, granting, and care for ministers and missionaries possible.
The only reason KBF exists is to help ministers and missionaries, who after a lifetime of faithful kingdom service, find themselves facing a financial or health hardship that they do not have the resources to meet.
UPDATE: We did it! David and Bob finished the race on November 23, riding a total of 100 kilometers. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we met our goal of raising $100,000 on December 10. Praise the Lord!
